WESTLAKE DOWNS SEWER ASSESSMENT

Description: The City of Sanford contracted Vision NC to perform a sewer assessment of the residential Westlake Downs area. The assessment aimed to identify any structural deficiencies and sources of I/I in the system. Westlake Downs is a waterfront community. The portion of the sewer system included in the project is located along the waterfront and sandwiched between houses. Vision NC performed cleaning and video inspection of approximately 5,025 LF of 8-inch sewer, smoke testing, and 25 manhole inspections. Our findings, pipe conditions, and recommendations were summarized for the City in spreadsheets, databases, and GIS mapping. Since work was performed so close to houses, several rounds of public notifications were distributed in the form of door hangers. The City also published our schedule on its website.
